Savour - The Flavour of Stratford

Featuring a foreword from distinguished actor Colm Feore and recipes from the Stratford Festival's own executive chef Kendrick Prins, this publication is a must pick up for any Stratford Festival fan, local foodie or newbie to Stratford alike.

Stratford is a culinary destination year-round, but in the heart of summer and early fall, it is alive with cafes, pubs, patios, restaurants, specialty cheese shops, craft breweries, artisanal bakeries, chocolate shops and select coffee and tea merchants.

Summer cooking classes are offered by the Stratford Chefs School and in the "off season", more classes are staged and are usually over-subscribed. For those who enjoy the adventure of trying something new, the city abounds with tastings of wine, cheese, beer, scotch, chocolate, tea. The choices for locals and visitors ranges from a luscious lakeside luncheon, a simple patio dinner or a home cooked cafe meal to elegant fine dining.

To celebrate this abundance comes a new publication, Savour - The Flavour of Stratford, dedicated to food artisans, purveyors, growers, chefs, cooks, service staff, owners, even some theatrical home cooks who pride themselves on producing mouth-watering plates that measure up to fine cooking standards.

The culinary arts are thriving in Stratford and Richard Bain's tasty read pays homage to this cornucopia by providing recipes from a number of establishments and individuals 'specialites de maison.' So fire up your taste buds, choose a destination or a recipe and bon apptetit.
